React Beacon Technology

A React Beacon is a standalone, self-deployable hardware component of the React Trigger System. It doesn’t need to be integrated into a digital display or other asset.

The Beacon is a battery-powered device, housed within a durable IK07 and IP68 enclosure, and comes with a mounting kit for installation at bus stops, on buses, or anywhere else you want to trigger an information alert.

Like the React Trigger System for digital display signage, the React Beacon advertises its presence and trigger proximity-based, audio-visual notifications and information on a passenger’s phone.

The free React App uses the React Beacon’s signal to deliver automatic audio-visual proximity notifications and accessible information directly via a passenger’s phone, as they approach a bus stop and/or as the bus itself approaches the stop.

The App can detect and alert passengers whether it’s running in the phone’s foreground, background, or even when the phone is locked in their pocket. This feature that sets it apart from QR codes and NFC, which require manual action to find, locate and scan. For smartwatch users, notifications are delivered directly to their device as well, ensuring important information is never missed.

Audio notifications can be played aloud through the phone’s speaker or delivered discreetly via headphones or earbuds. The React App integrates with the phone’s native accessibility features, including VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android, providing an inclusive experience for all users.
