A React pushbutton is an accessible pushbutton because it can be activated automatically or manually using the free React App and/or a low-tech fob. Unlike traditional pushbuttons that rely solely on physical manual operation, React provides multiple activation options that improve accessibility and convenience for all users.

Removing Access Barriers:

1. Automatic Activation (Location Proximity). Automatically activates when a passenger is nearby, removing the barrier of having to locate and identify a pushbutton before use.
2. Remote Activation (App or Fob). Enables passengers to activate remotely, removing the reliance on physical mobility, reach, strength, or dexterity required to access and press a traditional pushbutton.

Flexible Integration:

The React accessible pushbutton can be integrated into assets through:

1. Wired connections
2. Wireless connections
3. Fully incorporated within an asset’s enclosure

This flexibility enables manufacturers and asset owners to provide an accessible activation solution without compromising design, functionality, or user experience, whether the asset is a digital display, totem, help point, door, lift or similar.

Pushbutton attributes

• Standard 22mm diameter button that protrudes from the enclosure, making it easier to find and press.
• Tactile braille label reading “info”.
• Configurable timeout delay (e.g. 30 seconds) to prevent repeated activation.
• Automatic heartbeat message (e.g. every 24 hours) for fault management purposes.

Passenger feedback options

• Haptic feedback: the pushbutton can vibrate on activation, confirming to the passenger that their request has been registered. (*wired only)
• Auditory feedback: the pushbutton can play a sound on activation, confirming to the passenger that their request has been registered.

Colour customisation

The pushbutton can be supplied in a variety of colours to ensure high contrast against surrounding infrastructure:

• Grey

• Wireless: battery life of up to approximately 10 years, depending on configuration.
